The Petra Mineral Fiber Ceiling Tile is an evolution of the renowned mineral fiber ceiling tile. The face of the Petra Mineral Fiber Ceiling Tile is coated with a factory applied latex paint that seals the tile creating a moisture barrier. Moisture is often the undoing of basic mineral fiber tiles. The project friendly price point makes the Petra Mineral Fiber Ceiling Tile an attractive option for customers on a tight budget.
The Petra Mineral Fiber Ceiling Tile boasts all the advantages that you expect from a mineral fiber ceiling tile. Class A fire rating, as well as industry standard noise reduction (0.5 NRC). The factory applied coating increases the humidity resistance of the tile as well as providing mold and mildew resistance. The tiles advanced construction utilizing recycled materials while still meeting ASTM D5116 with the highest air quality standards. The 5/8" thickness facilitates insulation batting on top of the tile without sagging.
Designed to fit all standard 15/16" grid systems. Will not fit in a 9/16" grid, please measure the visible width of your grid. Available in 2x2 and 2x4 sizes.
Mineral fiber ceiling tiles have been the staple of suspended ceiling systems for decades. In recent years people have been looking for a better return on their investments and standard mineral ceiling tiles fall short in most areas, especially when exposed to moisture. The Petra tile mitigates part of that weakness by applying a latex coating to the face of the tile. This provides a moisture barrier, reducing the tiles susceptibility to humidity. But this still doesn't provide any protection for leaky pipes or ceilings above the tiles, but at this price point you can't really expect a waterproof tile.
One of the big advantages of the mineral fiber ceiling tile is the price point. Extremely budget friendly, these tiles are often the choice of consumers looking to save a little here and there. And as long as the environment these tiles are going into has very little risk of moisture from above, these tiles will perform as intended.

Product has been tested in accordance with ASTM 84e and scored a Class A rating for flame spread and smoke generation.

Warranty Conditions and Limitations
This warranty covers material defects in the ceiling tile when used in a standard ceiling application. It does not cover labor, consequential or incidental damages. This warranty is not transferable and applies to the original purchaser only. Please note that painting the ceiling tile will void the warranty and may change some of its properties like its fire rating.

While they worked, they didn't quite fill the grids completely. I don't think they'll fall, but there is wiggle room the original tiles didn't have.
